You Are What You Eat

You Are What You Eat
I wrote this article to help those who are looking for the truth. I have lived my life seeking the truth since I was a young adult. I went to GOD and told him I want to know the truth. I still stand on the principle today.

If you research this, you will find 71.6% of adults from 20 years and older are overweight or obese. Those are staggering numbers because, for most of us, we eat our emotions. Let’s face it. We live in a time when there is a lot of emotional upheavals.

Problems both politically and health-wise; heck we just came through a massive storm  COVID-19 took the lives of thousands of people.  Many contracted the virus but recovered.

We thank GOD for that, but some others were not so fortunate. Some are still dealing with residual problems both in health and finances. We need GOD like never before. The agencies in this world cannot tell us the absolute truth because they are still trying to discover it.

So, where do we go from here?

You go to God!

He is the Creator of all things. That’s why today I want to talk to you about your diet. When your body is healthy, you live better, and you feel better. Your health, or lack thereof, is not up to GOD alone. We play an intricate part in the condition of our bodies. You are what you eat; doctors have been telling us for that for decades.

You Need Vision

You Are What You Eat

So, if you don’t believe doctors, who do you trust? In the late part of the 90s, the LORD told me to stop eating meat. Now that is not something that I would’ve done on my own. I loved hamburgers and chicken, ribs and pork chops. All the things that the average American loves to eat.   So, when the LORD told me to stop eating it, I struggled. At first, a large part of me wanted to stop, so I gave up red meat and other things, but I just kept eating a little chicken.

The LORD knew something that I didn’t know. I had started having severe cramping in my abdomen area.   I thought that it was just a stomachache, but after taking all of the over the counter and prescription medicine for my stomach, my doctor told me something else. He diagnosed me with IBS.

I would have problems with my colon all the time. It wasn’t until 2001 when I was sent to the gastroenterologist, that he discovered that I had a large tumor at the base of my colon.  The doctor diagnosed me with colon cancer after a biopsy; I was 39 years old at the time.  The gastro specialist said it’s “a shame you’re only 39 years old,” as though he was telling me that I would inevitably die.

Fortunately, I had built a close relationship with GOD and had been praying and talking to him regularly for years.  When he called me into ministry, I accepted it and was obedient to his word.  So, when the doctor spoke those words to me, GOD, my anchor, assured me I was safe as I laid in the hospital recovery room.

 GOD Destroyed My Enemy.

The LORD spoke to me in my right ear and said, “you don’t have cancer.”  I didn’t hesitate. I immediately believed GOD. I told the doctor, “I don’t have cancer.”  He ignored me at first, so I repeated it. “He asked me why do you keep saying that”? I told him because GOD just told me I don’t have cancer. Of course, you know he thought I was a little loopy from the Demerol, but as it turns out, GOD was right. GOD instantly healed me. He was my Great Physician then, and he is now.

I had the surgery in 2002, and when I went home, I ended up having to stay in bed for 30 days.  I was still in a great deal of pain and I couldn’t take care of myself, my staff had to help me.  I had stopped eating meat, and I thought I would’ve been out of pain after the surgery.  I was at a low point, so I started eating a little chicken for lunch every day.

The Size of a Newborn Babies Head

Soon after that, I noticed that I had to urinate frequently, so I called the doctor and said something was wrong. I have to keep running to the bathroom. So, she had me come in, and after an ultrasound, she informed me that a 13 cm growth formed inside me. That’s the size of a newborn baby’s head. I told the doctor I just had surgery a month ago and was split open; what happened? It wasn’t there then.

The doctor said to me, “you did something different since the surgery, what did you do? I said: “nothing, I didn’t even lift a loaf of bread because I’ve been in bed for 30 days”.

Then I remembered I had started to eat a little chicken every day for lunch. She told me, “that’s what did it, it’s the kind of protein that meat has in it that grew the large chocolate cystic mass inside of you.” So, I said to her well if eating meat did it, then when I stop it should go down.  She said: “it probably will go down some, but because it is so large, you’re going to need another surgery.” I was flabbergasted, and I told her I needed to talk to GOD before I do anything.

After talking to GOD, he told me that he would take care of it, so I rejected the surgery, but I stopped eating meat that day. I don’t know when GOD dissolved the mass, but I can tell you that I went back to my GYN a year later, who is also a surgeon. She ordered an ultrasound, and that mass was completely gone.

What you eat is very important, as you can see in my story. If you want a sound healthy diet or want to overcome illness, disease, or lose weight.  I would suggest that you go to GOD and like a good Father, he will tell you how to eat. Now mind you, if you are not serious about it, and you don’t want to know what to do, but you want to see if GOD will say something to you, well you might as well not waste your time because GOD knows what’s in your heart and what you have come there for. But if you want a remarkable change and live the best life that you can, ask GOD what you should be eating and what to give up.

Now I’m not going to tell you it would be easy to stop everything he’s telling you. But ask for his help. He will supply you with supernatural strength, which you need to revamp your diet. Simultaneously, you are beginning to cultivate a real relationship with GOD by your reliance and trust in what he tells you.

The God Diet

The diet that God gives you is the best one for you. Need I say more? After all, he’s the one who created you. Doctors stumble sometimes.  They can misdiagnose conditions and have been known to change what is healthy and what’s not.

There were some things that GOD told me to stop eating, that medical doctors told me was OK. But remember this the LORD. He will give you a diet specific for your body and needs because he knows what’s inside and may be festering in your body. The Lord knows exactly what it will take to help keep you healthy or get you back to good health.  Please listen to him and do what he tells you. He will make you happy!

I Struggle like you.

I have been dealing with weight gain and body dysmorphia for many years now. The Lord told me to eat clean. Sometimes I struggle to know what that is, so I have to go to him and ask him what to reject or accept.

I have been praying for weight loss. GOD told me that he would take the weight off of me.  He told me I would wear a size six and even wear a size 4 in some things.

I know I have to work with him to accomplish that but, the moment GOD speaks it, it will come to fruition for you.  Remember, timing is everything. It may not be in the time you think it should happen. Keep believing.

That’s the way the LORD works. He speaks something, and then it will manifest. He said in his word that his word which goes out of his mouth would not return void, but I will accomplish that what he sent it and prosper in it.

You Eat Three Times A Day.  You Should Pray Three Times A Day!

Look at how your life has gone. You were created, carried in a womb of a woman, and then born. Your body grew, your talents, gifts, and abilities emerged out for all of us to enjoy. So, you see, when GOD creates something, it will be fruitful.

You and every other human being are proof of that. It’s your responsibility to pray daily.  I would recommend that you pray just like you eat three times a day. I have been very blessed and fruitful in wisdom, knowledge, and finances.  GOD is my resource.

When plagues come and they will, he is there to handle them for me. It isn’t like I haven’t gone through storms or struggles all of us will, but he’s there to deliver you from all of them if you let him.

Food

Look at all the luscious delicacies that God has created when it comes to food. I’m speaking of the vegetables that come out of the ground and the fruits that grow on trees.

He made them in various shapes with gorgeous colors, both sweet, sour, and savory.   Just in recent years here in America, Medjool dates have become a significant part of our diet. We are learning to enjoy foods that are not from this country but from around the world.

Eat Fruits and Vegetables with Their Seeds

You Are What You Eat

I think it’s a good idea that you ask the LORD in your prayers to introduce you to food and show you what to eat for your body type. Because the LORD made fruits and vegetables to nourish our body, I asked GOD about eating, and he told me to eat things in season. He also said to me that I should eat things that have their seeds in them.

It has become more challenging to find certain fruits because we are now getting the seedless version of the fruits we’ve all grown to love, like watermelon and lemons.

Please don’t complain about the seeds; they are essential. If they were not, GOD wouldn’t have said to me to eat those with their seeds in them.

There’s a girl named Christina who has a YouTube channel called “Fully Raw Christina”. I would recommend that you go and check out her story. Eating fruits and vegetables saved her life. She’s beautiful, just like the fruits and vegetables that she lives off.

Look what God did for her.

Fast foods

There’s not a lot of thought process that go into the making of fast foods. They’re usually cheap in both quality and price. They have to put a variety of things to make it flavorful, like cheese, lots of salt, soy sauce, and sugar, and then fry it to make it so that you would fall head over heels for it.  They barely have any nourishment in them. I’m sure that if you ask God about eating fast food, he would not recommend them.

So, what should you do?

You Are What You Eat

Eat healthy, wholesome fantastic flavorful foods. But one step at a time, you don’t have to give up everything all at once because you will feel deprived if you do. You can have fish and other foods just prepared differently and have the whole food instead of its counterpart.

I am still evolving when it comes to clean food.  Some people say that they promote a clean diet, but many of the recommended foods are not clean. So that’s why GOD’S leadership and wisdom are valuable. I can’t stress that enough.

Please feel free to share your thoughts on this topic and what God tells you on your journey to eating healthier.

Success

I love chocolate! Sure it tastes great but I can eat to much at one time, sometimes. Sometimes when I am dealing with something I can overeat. I asked God why do I do this and He said one word to me “greed”. One of the derivatives from the word greed is greedy- having a strong or great desire for food or drink. When we are dealing with something in our lives, we should go to His word and find what what He says about it. Every scenario is in His word and like a good Daddy, He will have an answer.

1 Kings 18:24 Then call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the LORD. The god who ANSWERS by setting fire to the wood is the true God!” And all the people agreed.

Thanks for sharing with us Michael. We usually don’t have men who share with us how they struggle with over-eating when dealing with stressful situations. Growing up, I used to hear that if you ate a lot you were a good eater, or you had a good appetite. Now this was the 70s, you didn’t hear too many people claiming they had over-eating issues. Our enemy is subtle he intrudes in the life of everyone he can and our eating habits is prime territory. I like that you said that if we reach out to GOD, our Father and ask him for revelation he will give it to us. It’s only one thing I want to interject here we have to be willing to listen and wait for his answer. Most often people don’t want do that they want everything instantaneously. GOD is usually not instantaneous.
